Warehouse racking can effectively plan the utilization space of the warehouse and use the greatest advantage to store goods. How to ensure the reasonable circulation of goods and improve the utilization rate of warehouses? This requires reasonable space planning and racking placement when designing the warehouse racking system.
So how do you design the placement of warehouse racking?
1. Get a warehouse drawing
When designing the warehouse racking layout, we need a plan view drawing of the warehouse with precise size data. The data should specify the length, width and height of the warehouse, the position, quantity and size of the column, the orientation and size of the gate, and so on. If you do not have this drawing, you will need to measure and draw the drawings accurately.
2. Design the forklift aisle distance between warehouse racking
1) The aisle distance should be bigger than the maximum package size of the storaged goods plus 20cm
2) The aisle distance is the diameter of manual forklift + pallet plus 20cm, which can be placed on pallets and manual forklifts.
3) The aisle distance is the rotary diameter of the electric forklift + the upper tray + the escape distance of the U-turn. According to the our design experience, when the goods are manually accessed, the passage distance is generally 0.7 meters to 1.5 meters. The aisle distance is 2 meters to 4 meters.
It can be calculated according to the above several situations, or it can be calculated by combining the above situations. Different aisle distances can be used to make full use of the warehouse space.
3. Design the racking size, the layer quantity, the weight of each layer.
In what way is the goods stored on the rackings? whether they are packed in cartons or directly on the pallets? what is the size of the cartons and what is the weight? The commonly used rackings carry 0-3000kg per layer, the warehouse rackings can reach 3900mm in width and 1200mm in depth. The height can be determined according to the warehouse available height. There is no limit to the quantity of layers, which is generally determined by the height of the stored goods. Our standard is that the height of the shelf is equal to the height of the cargo plus 150mm. You can contact us for specific shelf system design.
4. Reserve reasonable space near the warehouse gate
In order to facilitate the opening and closing of warehouse doors and workers entry and exit, we will reserve a space near the warehouse door.
5. Decide how to place the rackings
The placement of the rackings in the warehouse must be determined according to the actual situation. Single depth rackings are generally placed against the wall, and double depth rackings are placed in the middle of the warehouse. We will arrange the layout of the rackings according to the distribution of the building pillars of the warehouse and the best direction of accessing the goods.
